Völkl began ski production in the Bavarian town of Straubing, Germany in 1923,
making 2010 its 87th anniversary. The company’s rich heritage is dotted with a tradition

FISCHER DOMINATES THE OLYMPIC GAMES

Fischer dominates the Nordic Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver (CAN), winning 51% of the medals. The best athlete of the Games: Marit Bjoergen (NOR). Remarkable finish to the season: 5 of the 6 Overall Nordic World Cup winners with Fischer. Ivica Kostelic (CRO) wins 2 silver medals in the Alpine Olympic events. Giant Slalom World Cup goes to Kathrin Hölzl (GER).

ATOMIC

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS END RESULT. Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Anna Haag, Franz Göring and Riita-Liisa Roponen caused some magic moments for the ATOMIC team. Gjerdalen’s dream of a medal came true in his hometown Oslo: With gold in relay and bronze on the final day over 50 kilometers. And for Franz Göring, the World Championships were a special experience. He brought the German relay team into line for a medal.
